About Our Team

Steven A. Stec, D.D.S.

A native of Ainsworth, Nebraska and a resident of Grand Island for more than 24 years, Dr. Stec has a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and a D.D.S. degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry in Lincoln. Because he believes strongly in staying current on the newest procedures, Dr. Stec regularly attends classes at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI), the premier training institute for dentists in the country. Courses at LVI include a series of lectures and hands-on training with actual patients. Dr. Stec has completed a number of courses at LVI, including Advanced Functional Aesthetics, Comprehensive Aesthetic Reconstruction, Advanced Posterior Aesthetics, Practical Occlusion in the Progressive Practice, and a Standard Proficiency Dental Laser course, which ensures he keeps up-to-date on all the latest advances in dentistry.

Our Dental Team

Our friendly, caring dental team includes an office coordinator, an office assistant, a dental assistant and two dental hygienists. Please feel free to give us a call-we'll be happy to answer any questions you may have or assist you in any matter.

Ashlee

Hi, I am Ashlee and have been a part of Dr. Stec's dental team since 2002. I earned my Diploma in Dental Assisting at Southeast Community College in Lincoln, Nebraska in September 2001. In December 2001 I became a Certified Dental Assistant. My primary role is that of Dr. Stec’s chairside assistant.

I have received many hours of continuing education through the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies as well as through several State of Nebraska approved Continuing education courses. Recently at the Las Vegas Institute I received a Certificate of Excellence in Advanced Posterior Aesthetics.

The most enjoyable aspect in assisting Dr. Stec is patient care. It is important to me that all patients feel comfortable during their visits to our office.

Chris

Hi, I am Chris and I joined Dr. Stec’s dental team in 1993. I am a native of Columbus, Nebraska and that is also where I started my career as a dental assistant. Prior to my current position as the office coordinator, I worked as the patient recare manager, general office assistant, and also as Dr. Stec’s chairside dental assistant.

As office coordinator, I primarily work with the business needs of the practice and I am your connection to scheduling appointments, insurance and accounting.

I am committed to providing exceptional care to our patients. I have received on-going training through the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies in which I have received Certificates of Excellence in Dynamic Team Concepts and Advanced Posterior Aesthetics. Attending these classes helps me to assure excellence in patient services.

Kelsey

I have been part of Dr. Stec’s team since October 2007. I am a native of Arcadia, Nebraska. My bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene was obtained in 2005 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry at Lincoln, Nebraska.

I strongly believe in the importance of continuing education in the profession of Dentistry and therefore attend many classes thoughout the year sponsored by the Nebraska Dental Association.

My goal is for patients to have a very enjoyable and educational experience when they come to our office.

Sandy

Hi, I am Sandy and I joined Dr. Stec’s dental team in January 2003. Prior to my employment with Dr. Stec, I spent many years as a dental assistant in an Orthodontic office in North Dakota.

My duties included assisting in all aspects of the office, that is, I assist the office coordinator, chairside assistant, and hygienists. At times when the office coordinator and chairside assistant are gone, I fill in these positions.

Another primary responsibility is that of maintaining the office recare program.

In May 2004, I completed my first course at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies.

Sharon

Hi, I am Sharon and have been part of Dr. Stec’s team since 1995. My first experience in the dental field was as a dental assistant. In 1993 I received my Dental Hygiene degree from Central Community College in Hastings, Nebraska.

I continue to advance my dental education by attending courses at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies as well as State of Nebraska approved continuing education courses.

Working with patients to obtain their optimal dental health is what I enjoy most.

Tara

I have been with Dr. Stec’s team since May 2007. I will be receiving my degree in dental assisting for Central Community College in Hastings, Nebraska. It is my goal to become a Certified Dental Assistant. My primary role at Dr. Stec’s office is that of a chairside assistant and also assisting the dental hygienists.

The most enjoyable aspect of my profession is seeing our patients obtain optimal dental health and making them comfortable while doing so.
